The Walled Garden in Meersbrook Park is looking lovely at the moment but organisers need some new volunteers to be able to continue opening to the public.
Andy Kershaw, the Membership and Publicity Officer for the Meersbrook Park Users Trust, says,
‘We need people to open up and close the garden and be a point of contact for people on Sundays and we’d like more people to join our happy band of garden volunteers during the week, who by their own admission are getting on and need some younger blood’.
‘We also need people with DIY or building or carpentry experience to help with basic maintenance around the garden for a few hours a week. All tools and materials will be provided’
‘The garden has been managed by the trust‘s dedicated team of volunteers for over 22 years and has had many thousands of visitors over that time with many from abroad, but it’s still one of Sheffield’s best kept secrets, says Andy.
